The Bronx is where hip-hop was created, so they undoubtedly helped bring some of the biggest stars in the game today: Cardi B, Ice Spice, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lil TJay, and much more from the metropolitan area. Today the newer generation still has the grittiness of 90’s rap but with a twist of the modern trap and rap influence. Speaking of the Newer generation, The Bronx may have 2 more rising stars; Knoxxx and Jfendi.
These Bronx natives still have the core influence of hip-hop in their sound but a more radio-friendly persona which is sure to make anyone turn up the volume in their car. These rising stars debuted their new single “X’em Out” filled with clever wordplay, melodic melodies, and trap drums. What stands out the most in the song is the wordplay with the letter “X”; for instance “My X texting me, saying she wants my coordinates” or “Roaming off an X at 10”. The first line plays with the x and y-coordinates on a graph and the second is a double entendre of the number 10 in roman numerals, which symbol is X.
So if you love Melodic artists that can pack a lyrical punch like Juice Wrld, Lil Uzi Vert, and NBA Young Boy then Knoxxx and Jfendi might be your new favorite artists. The dynamic duo met in Highschool then rekindled after both pursuing music years later, often spending late nights in the studio these two work ethics and music are sure to make waves in the music industry. Will they be another Bronx native with talent that goes to waste or another name to add to the list of stars from New York City? The song is out on Soundcloud, iTunes, and Spotify now!
