After listening to his debut album “Battle scars” I can give my honest opinion that he not only deserves the spotlight, but will undoubtedly be welcomed into the world of hip hop. His diversity in his music makes him a perfect fit for a mainstream music career at a high level.
He delivers his ideals and emotions lyrically, (while although complex at times) they are easily felt and understood. 22Tango is a lyricist of very high quality and it is apparent to listeners that every word comes from a place of passion and emotion adding to his authenticity. His lyrics are more poetic than I have heard in my great deal of time critiquing hip singles, EP’s, and full length albums. 22Tango is also an Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient that is no stranger to combat. Even with this unique experience, I would not classify him as a military rapper, as I’ve highlighted previously 22Tango makes emotional music that is relatable to everyone.
He has an unmatched ability to turn his genuine emotions into clever wordplay that are sure to resonate with any listener. His ear for music and exceptional talent for poetic storytelling makes you feel his message. This is one of the best artist debuts I’ve heard as far as creative vision, amazing lyrical skill, authentic vibe and content diversity. It’s clear that 22Tango is not afraid to show the world his heart, which is a rarity especially on a debut album.
I believe 22Tango will not only excel, but continue to improve. 22Tango has even marketed himself for the most part, which further displays his hunger and drive to showcase his talents to the world. The only thing I’d say needs work, is creating a distinct image and brand for when he is in the limelight. Not if, when. This debut blew me away, and his charisma and confidence will only help him grow his spotlight image that every one of a kind artist has to stand out in such a competitive business. I commend this artist for his vulnerability, and ability to connect through music. Top tier.
